Color of the Day 177

***Please note that I color using the lightest color first, dark, medium and back to light.  I only slightly blend the edge of the last color placed.  Then add the shadow.

If you miss one of the combo's you can find it on the side of the blog labeled "Color of The Day".  Please realize that your computer screen and printer can change the way you see it or how the colors print, but if you try it yourself you will get some fun combos...promise!

Also, feel free to pin them.  I ask that you do not sell them printed out, do not place them on your personal blog but rather link to mine.  These are for personal use only.   Leave me some love if you want to see more!

Thank you to all my followers and fans from all over the world.

Kick in the Pants...

Do you ever feel like you need a little push to get yourself going.  My mojo has gotten all wacky (I am sure its the hormones) and I just felt like I was spinning my wheel and didn't want to do ANYTHING.  Nothing like a little kick in the pants by deadlines...yes when it's due on the day you decide to start a project.  Thank you Make It Crafty for always being the motivation I need with your FUN challenges.  This months challenge is (easy) with pink and brown, or (hard) curly hair.  So I combined them.  You can join in on the coloring fun HERE on the 1st of JUNE (my bad I posted a few days early).  You have until the end of June to create some yummy.

On the fence

Here is a card I designed to show the New Hydrangea Garden stamp that I used the new Hydrangea Garden die to cut out.  I love this die and know it will get a lot of use.

You can pick up your die and stamp from Stampendous and see exactly what I am talking about!  Yup, I am an enabler!

Go Fly A Kite!!!

I was blessed to meet Karen Burniston (with Elizabeth Craft Designs) at the Great Yosemite Retreat and we hit it off amazingly.  What a talented designer and fun person!!  I got the chance to play with her dies and WOW...what outside the box thinking she has going on in that brain!  I think outside the box too, but she is a technical thinker and it just sends my brain into a tail spin!  I am a guest on this fun challenges she has going on using the theme "Fly" interpreted any way I like....well this is what I came up with.  Of course (you know me), I couldn't keep it simple and somehow found the time to design my own card using the Fabulous Katie Label Pivot Die.  I hope you enjoy...and scroll ALL the way down for a mini tutorial on how I made it.

Follow Karen Burniston on Facebook and keep up with the latest and greatest!

Snow in May?

...not here in Arizona thats for sure!  We are to hit 106 degrees this weekend....arg.  I would truly take snow any day over the heat.  For now I guess its all about staying cool.  Here is a cool simple card we whipped up at The Great Stamp Escape.  I showed how to simply sprinkle the Chunky white embossing enamel and then heat from underneath.  Remembering to keep it one layer to do this, then adding the rest of the layers to complete the card.

Faux Real!

All Dressed Up blog has a Faux Real cool challenge going on.  You get to "run" crazy with stitches...either faux or real (or both).  How cool is that!  here is what I created for the challenge inspiration.

I used the team stamp and kept it pretty simple as they ARE simple.  Then I went crazy with the paper.  How unlike me...ha ha!  White space?!...HECK NO!

Well not a lot of blending happening here but I did use a few Copics E50 E51 R29 C4 and C2

Wanna know how I got such straight stitches? Google Karen Burniston Oval Accordion Card Die...you will see :)
I have used "We Make A Good Team"
Head over to the ADU store and see what goodies inspire you!

This challenge will run until June 2nd
Head on over to All Dressed up blog to check out the rest of the teams creations, and why not enter the challenge while you are there.
 **Please note**
To enter the challenges you MUST use an All Dressed Up Image or paper.

To Cheer You

This is the summer card "to cheer you" from the Great Stamp Escape a few weeks back, I thought I would share.  I taught the gals some tricks to making cards more interesting by doing special cuts to extend the image beyond the"white box".  I do believe by the time we were done with this card most everyone GOT IT!  Such a fun image too!

We also got to play with Mica and Glass glitter.  Here is the supply list for the Stampendous products

Dragonfly Delight

This is one of the fun cards we made at the Great Stamp Escape in Oakhurst, California a few weeks back.  I had an AMAZING time and the memories will last forever.  We got to use a lot of "crunchy, chunky" Stampendous goodies throughout the whole weekend.  Below is the list of products used.

I airbrushed the background to make this dragonfly POP off the page.  Quite simple and fun, a quick card to whip up when your in a hurry (believe it or not).

Here is my creation for you to enjoy!

Up Up Up in the tree a little sweet birdie looked down on me...dont look too long up in the sky or you might get a little poop in your eye.  Yes...I had to do it!
This was supposed to be an ornament but now I am thinking I can pull it off as a chunky necklace. I love how you can take an image and funk it out with distressing and gears.  I really love this bird in a nest image by Stampendous.  I took bits and pieces to create this little scene.  An easy pour of resin just topped it off.  Have I mentioned I love Resin with my Stampendous goodies.

Fly Away with Stampendous and ICE Resin

ICE_Resin_Blog_hop

Welcome to the Stampendous StampsICE Resin® and Imagine Crafts®/Tsukineko®! You'll be amazed what we have for you this weekend! For the next four days you'll be treated to some of the most amazing projects you've seen with some of the hottest mixed media artists in crafting! The possibilities for crafting with these great products are truly endless!

I captured this Stampendous butterfly in resin the other day.  I love how beautiful some of Stampendous' smaller stamps fit inside the bezels.  I think this is one of my favorite pieces of Ice Resin.
This piece was pretty basic.  I colored up the butterfly and leaf and put a little fuchsia glass glitter around the pieces after tacking them down.  Then I poured in my resin.  I always work multiple pieces at one time so its a one pour instead of a lot of little ones.  (So yes I have other fun pieces to show at some point).  The hardest part is waiting for the resin to cure.  The best advise I can give is to set them aside out of line of site and curious kitties.  It is gonna take a while so quit checking on it...let it sit overnight...forget about them already...they are done when they are done!

I hope you enjoyed this piece.  A craft well worth trying out.

Now in addition to that fun stuff you can win some goodies...
