Must Haves...

I have heard lots of you saying "we want to color flowers".  Well someone was listening.  Copic now has a few NEW Coloring Foundations tutorial books for those wanting to learn new things and fun techniques.

I got to play with them today and wanted to share a little about them for those curious as to what is inside the sealed package.  You will find two Coloring Foundations books, "Coloring Flowers" and "Coloring Faces and Hair".  Both books come with line art tutorial images to color and a beautifully printed bound book.  Inside the books you will be inspired with step by step instructions and colored images.  The author Marianne Walker also shares tips and tricks that you can incorporate in all your coloring.

I thought I would see how easy it was to follow a tutorial.  I followed it exactly as they had it written. The hardest thing was to not grab others colors as I am not a pink person, but once I got past that, the image turned out amazing and I couldn't stop at just one image.  The book not only explains the color combos but a bunch of different techniques used in each image.

For those that are stuck in a rut, want to pick up on fun techniques that are new to you, or just maybe not used as often these are the books to grab!

You can find them through

Just Plain Scary!

So my buddy Zoe with Make It Crafty always challenges us to think outside the box.  This is an extraordinary challenge with her followers.  She gave anyone who wanted to play one of her cute digital stamps "Penny in Love" shown below and challenged us to turn her into a Zombie.  OH YAH!  This is what I came up with.  RUN and HIDE if this isn't your "thing"!

We call this "Creative Color Placement" as no lines have been altered.  in this case it is EXTREME Creative Color Placement.

Featuring 13 NEW stamps from
DoveArt Studios Collection

We are very excited about each of these new stamps and we know you will want them all!!!

Each of our Design Team members will be sharing their inspiration with gorgeous projects that feature every one of these new stamps!

Here is what I have created:

I used the Horse Head stamp from the new release and found it to be easy to color because of the presided areas.  I wanted to keep it semi masculine so no ribbons and bows.  I topped it off using one of the sentiments from the new sentiment set.

You can find both of these rubber stamps in the CCDesigns store

Take Care

Ok, this was as project.  It might not look like it.  It took me days to draw the zipper.  Then I put it into photoshop and added a fun portrait digital stamp from Make It Crafty behind the zipper.  Then the indecisiveness of what colors to use making it an all day coloring project.  In the end I am totally thrilled with the outcome.

The inspiration for this was the newest challenge from  The challenge is "Bright Colours".   I am on the Design team and we were to come up with some inspiration for the challenge.  I hope you are inspired and come join in on the fun.

Winter Warmth

I thought I would challenge myself to try something new.  Blending Copics into a white area. Leaving A TON of white...its hard to do.  You must make sure the last color blended is light enough, and use the blender marker to smooth it into the white.  I like the look but its not an everyday style for me.  I thought I would share the outcome with you and you can give it a try too.

This stamp is a new release from Little Darling Rubber Stamps.  The stamp is called Winter Warmth and can be found HERE.

On My Mind

I love Dustin Pike's illustrations.  His Buzzards are to-die-for!  This is another card for this month's class in Phoenix.  If you are not local you can pick up this stamp at your local store.  Just have them order it from CCDesignsRubberStamps or through their distributer.  I really had fun making this card.  I think it is a little bit of funny...and I like funny.  The fun banner die can be picked up at CCDesigns too.  We are going to have fun in this class!  Sorry to rub it in to all those that live afar...but you're always on my mind if that counts for anything.
