Just Monkeying Around - Video

I have uploaded a new tutorial to YouTube on creating a Bokeh background.  It really is quite simple and has such a cool effect to whatever you are creating.  You will find it HERE.
For this card I used one of Stampendous cute Cling sets called Jungle friends.  They also have a Woodland friends set.  I even put him on a wobble so his head moves.  Doing what I do, I added some facial features using creative color placement.  It is amazing what a little ink can do to change up an image.  The set comes with a stencil too so I added the coconut tree in the background just by masking off the little monkey.

Copic Must Have's - Instruction Workbook

I do not know if you knew....but you will now...Copic has instructional workbooks that will help you with your coloring skills.  The one I played with today is Intro to Coloring.  In the book you will find wonderfully written step by step instructions on blending, shapes and shadows, wood, using the colorless blender, texturing and so much more.  It includes line art you can photocopy and color along.  I used the butterfly to create this card using basic blending.  This is one of many of the new books you must check out.  Also available is Coloring Faces and hair, Coloring Flowers and Coloring Cats and Dogs.  They can all be found HERE.

Friendship

Make It Crafty just released two adorable little kid digi's in time for Mothers day.  I decided to color them up with Zoe's no-line stamping which means you print in a light gray so the lines disappear when coloring.  it takes a bit more time to color but the results are so cool.  I printed it the size of an A2 so she takes up a majority of the card front.

You can find them HERE

Anything is Possible

Power Poppy has a new FUN digital just out called Created to Create.  It allows you the opportunity to create a little extra personalized if you want, or you can use the sentiment that is on the book depending on which digi you choose to use.  So many choices.  I thought I would add my own sentiment to the book, and with that saying I chose to color the daffodils blue...YUP, cause "With art anything is possible"  I am pleased with the results.  I even added my own paint pallet to hold up the ease card.

A Mom's Dedication

With Mother's Day coming up I thought it was the perfect time to create this card.  To all those moms that dedicated their love to make sure we thrive.  Happy Mother's Day (a little early).

Sometimes I like to take cards a little over-the-top, at least for my style.  So here you have the pearls, bling and buttons with the Gilded Doily, Oval and Label Die.  It was fun to create and I finally had to say "time to stop"....actually I ran out of room.  You can find all the Dies and stamp in the LDRS Creative store.

Gasenfude...Say WHAT?! Copic Must Have!

Get ready for this!  Copic Gasenfude a Nylon Brush pen (pronounced gas-en-fu-day).  YES, YES, YES!  Not a "Brush nib"...no, no, no, but rather an actual brush with bristles.  Deep black ink, flows beautifully, and can make the thickest or thinnest of lines.  Guess what?  It is Copic compatible too!
I had this idea pop into my head and probably totally butchered it, but here goes.  **Anyone from Japan or if you can read Japanese feel free to private message me if I spelled a bad word.  Hopefully I took the word "love" and was able to pull this off while still keeping its integrity.  I wanted to take the brush tip of the Gasenfude and create thick to thin black lines to look like branches and then add cherry blossoms because it is that time of year (and who doesn't like cherry blossoms?)
It turned out a little peachy in the photo...really is more pink in real life.  I used 3 Copic markers for
this.  R11 R81 R85.  just adding 5 tear drop shapes together to form blossoms.  Then I added a little of the Pink Multiliner to the centers.  SIMPLE!

Gasenfude I love you!
**tip:  If you use it slowly, you will achieve a smooth line look (like I used it above).  Move it quicker and you will get a fun dry-brush look.  Two effects in one!

Gasenfude

AAARG!

I have to admit this stamp has been on my desk for little bit now and I kept avoiding coloring her...but then I just decided to stamp her up and had a blast coloring her.  Her face is the perfect size to add nice shading.  I wanted to keep the colors simple so stuck with red and black theme and then decided to make my own pattern paper using my Copics and a ruler.  Why haven't I been doing this all along. so FUN!  To see how the paper was made view my video HERE

You can find this stamp in the LDRS Creative store or in a local store in your area.  She is part of the latest "Dollhouse" CHA release.  I LURV her!
