Recycle/Reuse Stampendous Challenge

You have a few days left to get in on the April Challenge on the Stampendous Blog.  This was a fun challenge because you get to grab anything "laying" around and put it on a card.  I decided I would use a cardboard box, and old button, some string and some ribbon I had laying around.

This image is a favorite of mine.  You can get your Jumbo Cling Song Bird HERE.  I used YR31 and E35 to color it in.  Be sure and check out the rest of the gals showing off how they recycle, and enter for your chance to win.

The winner for this month's challenge will receive this fabulous Perfectly Clear Mother's Love set:

Be sure to play along with us in May as we are full of great gifty ideas! Meanwhile, check out what the rest of the team has been up to this week:

Feeling Tropical

I wonder why I am feeling so tropical lately.  I am sure its NOT the Macadamia Hershey kisses I am eating, or the dried mango and pineapple, or the toffee macadamia shortbread cookies that my favorite pineapple gals brought me when they came to the mainland for my card that could not be.  Or is it?  Here is a card I created using...gulp...colored pencils.  It is a wonderful Jumbo Cling stamp by Stampendous called "Tropical Garden".  I colored on kraft cardstock and then spritzed with water and coffee.  I layered it on a brown crinkled lunch bag.  This card works in really nicely with the current April challenge Stampendous is doing right now "Recycle".  Check it out HERE.  Anyway, thank you to my pineapple gals for the fun filled weekend and the goodies that have me all jacked up :)

Photo taken at 5am at PHX airport.  Miss you!  See you at the next copic retreat!

Hey Moo...No O-fence!

I don't know about you but sometime I call mom "moo".  Not because my beautiful mom looks like a cow, not because her skinniness reminds me of a cow, not because she eats like a cow....but because moo was just what I love to call my mom.  So here is a card I made using Crafters Companion new "Silly Moo".

Airbrushed background with purple, brown and blue, grass area with YG93, Cows E40 - E49.  Card measures 6x6 (large image)  perfect for an A2.  I am going to enter this into Crafters Companion Blog Challenge...yay me :)

Crafters Companion Does It Again

Oh how I love animals and ducks are no exception.  I got this image from Crafters Companion.  Today I colored it up.  These are large stamps and pretty much take up a full A2, so not a lot to do when making the card...just coloring and inking.  Gotta love that.  They have 3 images in this series sheep, cows and duck.  I can't wait to color the rest.  Be sure and grab your stamp!!

I used glossy card stock for this image because I wanted the background to be "watery".  I airbrushed the background with blue, brown and green (onto the glossy) and then misted it with blender solution.  I then stamped the image on card stock and colored the duck with E40 - E44 and cut and paste.  Here is the end result.  Was so super fast to make this card...think i will whip out another one...stop back soon.  And thanks to all that comment...means the world!!!!!

Can It Get Much Cuter?

Here is the card class that is happening Friday and Saturday at The Craft Retreat.  We are going to go Cute-sie crazy.  These Cute critters are all from Stampendous.  You can get yours HERE and HERE.  They are pretty irresistible!!

All Alice

So hopefully you've had a chance to wander over to the Altered Alice Blog this month and see what everyone is doing with our fantastic Wonderland Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. Remember that you have all month to link a project to their Linky Tool over there and possibly win this set for yourself. Alice themed entries count double, of course!

Here is a little inspiration for you today.  I made this pretty in pink sample.  It is unusual for me to not use Copics but it just worked out that way.   I used Vintage Mahogany Embossing Tinsel to emboss these images.  The sparkle of the tinsel combined with the gorgeous May Arts ribbon makes this card really Splendidly Dressed! (that's the theme, remember?)

If you're participating in this challenge, be sure to snag the blinkie below for your blog! It was created from our Wonderland set by our very own Art Director, Lisa Hindsley!

We sure hope you'll play along with us! Follow us down that Rabbit Hole, and get creating!

Dreamweaver and Stampendous Blog Hop Week

I hope you have been following us around this week as Dreamweaver Stencils' Dream Team and the Stampendous Design Teams have been providing some "Dream-pendous" inspiration for you, with multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies. Every day this week, you have been directed from both the Stampendous Impressions' blog or the Dream It Up! blog to the players du jour for your oohing and aaahing pleasure. Everyone is playing today for the final shebang , our final hop for the week. This is your opportunity to see how to mix and mingle your creativity...if you are a stenciler, you will be fascinated at combining stamps with your first love. If you are a stamper, you will be wowed at how stencils can add to your impressions.

Here is my final creation for this hop.

I used the Dreamweaver Butterfly stencil on glossy paper using the PEARLESCENT embossing paste.  I used PINK POPPY FX on top of it while it was till damp, slightly sprinkling on the top of the past and lightly brushing it with a dry paint brush.  I discovered that if you use the paste on glossy card stock it takes a little longer to 'adhere itself to the paper and you can heat it (using a heat gun from beneath and it will bubble the paste up.  You then let it slightly cool and press down the bubble to create texture.  How fun it that...only AMAZING!  You Must try it!  I finished it off by using Stampendous MICA flakes and embossing enamel  to "Frantage" it up a bit.   The background is stamped with the music notes from this set HERE.  This card is so shimmery.

Here is where you can get your stencil.  If your looking for the Stampendous images you can check out your local stores or go HERE to find your closest dealer until the end of the month where the NEWEST stuff will be available on the Stampendous store...yes, they are THAT new!

Be sure to leave comments as you tour the blogs (with your email addy!) for a chance to win one of these sets:  US residence eligible for prizes.
Leave me some love before you "gear up" for the next player!

All of this week the Dreamweaver Stencils' Dream Team and the Stampendous Design Teams will be providing some "Dream-pendous" inspiration for you, with multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies. Each day this week, you will be directed from both the Stampendous Impressions' blog or the Dream It Up! blog to the players du jour for your oohing and aaahing pleasure. First I heat embossed Stampendous BIRD MANOR (W073),  Vintage Bird Cage (V266), and I also used the Stampendous gear clear set.  I used the flat black paste and the Art Nouveau Flourish metal stencil from DreamWeavers to produce the glorious yumminess on the left of the card.  If you are wanting to get your stencils go HERE.   Topping it off with Creative Impressions pearls.  The images are NEW stampendous stamps coming to your local stores.  I airbrushed the background using Copics and a plastic stencil from Crafters Workshop.
