Polar Friends

How can you not fall in love with these sweet faces?  This is a July release from Whimsy Stamps.  Perfect for a fun Christmas themed card or a warm hello.  You can find Polar Friends in the store now!

I colored up the image and added the embellishments using the Christmas Branches die set.  This set is going to get a ton of use!  I love these little "pom pom" branches and it can be used with so many different colors.  The set also comes with Holly like leaves so these could be the berries.

I finished this card off by adding some of the delicious chipboard snowflakes that come in 3 different sizes and the Hello sentiment.  I love these.  They come in a light cream and are easy to color with the Copic markers or any coloring medium for that matter.  Little tip...color them when they are still in the protective frame and then easily pop them out and adhere together to create layers.

Bridal Wedgie-Wear

I "crack" myself up.  If you know me, you know I can have a little sense of humor.  When I saw this Pennant Flags die an idea popped into my head of a pair of thong underwear or as I call them wedgie-wear.  Well perfect for the bride to be, don't you think?

I added some aspirin for the shaker portion of the card.  A bride might need it as the "sorry honey, I have a headache" just might not work.  After I was done I realized this might just be an overdose amount so must add a disclaimer...don't take them all at once.

For those that share in my humor...funny right?  For those that don't...MY Bad :)

Oh Baby, Baby

So I couldn't color just one of the cute stamps from the clear set Baby Animals.  Here is a baby card I made using the giraffe.  I really love this color combination don't you?  Perfect baby card.  Even with all the layers this is a pretty easy card to make.  If you change the spots from pink to blue you now have a boy card.  Simple switch-a-roo.  This set has so much potential!

Once again using one of my favorite banner dies from LaLa Land, the Flag Banner , tops off the card.

Blue Jeans

I woke up with this idea.  I thought it would be fun to create a blue jean look with a combo of stamps from Whimsy.  How many different stamps do you think I used for this?

To create this fun card I used...

Zipper embossed with black embossing powder
Burlap Background stamped in blue
Get in Line clear stamps for stitches in blue
Gingham Background stamped in blue
Beaucoup Bouquet sentiment embossed in black

Add a few antique copper brads and you have a pair of blue jeans.  Which brings me to the question...why do we say "I have a pair of blue jeans" when there is only one?

Super quick, super fun and perfect for that super awesome person in your life!

Bear Hugs

Swoon!!  I just love Panda Bears don't you.  Something about the pattern of the fur.  Well this little sweetie bear is from Whimsy Stamps.  Originally I had planned to do a baby card with a pastel color instead of the gray blend...well oops...I started applying the grays without event thinking about it.  Instead of starting over again I just kept going.
This bear comes from the cute Baby Animals clear stamp set.  There is also a bunny and a giraffe and some adorable sentiments too.  So many choices in one set!  As this didn't end up being a baby card I decided to add a sentiment using a chipboard word and hearts from Make It Crafty.   I do think this bear is asking for a hug!

You're Mermazing

I had to get my hands on this Sitting Mermaid Baby Marci from la La Land Crafts.  For this one I decided to add tiny star sequins to the tail.  Who's idea was this anyways?!  I placed each one with tweezers.  I do love the tail shimmer though.  The stars came out of the Pure Sheen Confetti collection - Peacock Feathers.  They shimmer like crazy!  They are so very tiny and perfect for her tail scales.
After coloring and cutting out my image I stamped Hello Lovely background stamp to create the pattern paper.  Then I created the image backdrop with the new Water Ripples layering stencil and my airbrush machine.   I turned it sideways when done.   I did two layers with different colors and tried to make it look like seaweed.  Once done I used my blender marker to remove some ink to give the impression of bubbles.  I didn't give them details as I wanted the image to be the focus.

So Well Preserved

Look at that sentiment!  What a fun birthday card dont you think?  So well preserved...snicker, snort! I decided to do a clear shaker card using the new Ahoy Matey clear set for this idea.  I combined it with the latest Shaker Maker die, Pennant Banner, for this design.  I had found some miniature sand dollars on the beach in California so I added those to the shaker along with some microbeads.

I airbrushed the inside on card stock and added it to the acetate card base.  After creating the shaker card I added it to the front panel.

Remember with these Shaker Maker die sets that you are given two sizes and 4 dies.  This allows many options.  I use the die for the lower panel to also cut the acetate and the smaller frame portion of the set for the upper panel.  If you want to use them individually that works too....I love the options!

No Words

Sometimes there are no words.  For those moments a simple hug, a listening ear, a look of understanding, a special card...or a snot rag is all you can offer.  For those that have lost pets, I understand.  This one is for you.  If you would like this sweet set of clear stamps to add to your collection for those moments when words just won't do, you can find it in the Whimsy store HERE.

I Like Big Mutts

I have one of the newer large Background sets from Whimsy Stamps called Puppy Paws Background.  This stamp leaves such a precise stamped image...I think I had too much fun using it.

Combining it with the new clear stamp set Soul Mutts I decided to do some fancy masking.  This doggie is standing next to a little girl.  I masked her off on the actual stamp and inked up the stamp blocking the ink from getting on her...then remove the mask and stamped the image.  To get the dogs overlapping I also had to create a second mask to cover the stamped dog on the card.  I did mention it was fancy masking didn't I?  I am super pleased with this card.  Do you know someone who would like a card like this?  Better get your clear set from the store while its still there.

Have F-U-N!

Squeeeee!  When I first started creating the idea for this card I was feeling blah about it...it was cute, yet so plain and simple.  Starting out with the fabulous new Fireworks stencil I airbrushed the background.  I then stamped the Gingham Background for the lower portion.  Next I cut out the F-U-N with the NEW Bold ABC die set.  That was the plan but something was missing.  It didn't feel as fun as I had imagined.

Well I decided to color up the new adorable Sunshine stamp from Elizabeth Bell (sold through Whimsy)  She had a swimsuit on and a puppy by her feet but I though the arm placement was so right for my idea...so I chopped her in half.  Insert evil laugh here!  All colored up I added her to the top edfe of the bottom half of the card...PERFETO!  The final touches was to add the Make It Crafty chipboard alphabet letters to form the word "have", and the cool stars!  POW!....Done!...and WOW, F- U-N!!!

Ahoy Matey

First off...Happy Fourth of July everyone.  I hope your day is filled with family fun, warm weather (but not too warm) and a love for life!  Maybe even time to create something awesome!  This is FUN-tastic I have been up to...

Ahoy Matey is the latest release from Whimsy Stamps.  Using one of the characters from this set I created a shaker card.  Whimsy released the Shaker Maker Banner Flag die last month and I thought this worked perfectly for what I had in mind.

If you look closely you can see all the layers.  The largest die that is the lower base of the shaker can also be used for the acetate piece allowing for the fun clear overhang on the shaker card.  The next size up is the window portion.   Cool huh?

Harvest Delight - Yummy Samples

For all those foodies out there, this ones for you!  This is called Harvest Delight and I combined a handful of samples for you to drool over.  This stamp is now available through Whimsy Stamps HERE.  Wouldn't this stamp make a great label for a canning jar?  How about those gifts you give your friends where the whole soup is in a jar and all they do is throw it into a soup pot?  Then again you can keep it simple and just make a card.

Do It Different

As you might know I like to think outside the box.  For this card I used the newly released Harvest Wreath from Whimsy combined with Penguin Holiday Squares in a wintery theme instead of a more autumn theme.  I am super thrilled with the results and just shows that you can use stamps for many seasons if you think outside the box.

I colored up the two images and fussy cut out the center of the wreath.  After cutting out the penguin I just slipped him into the wreath.  Pretty simple huh?  I layered him on the double stitched frame from Card Builder Window die set.  Simply add a sentiment when done...I used Make It Crafty chipboard sentiments.  You can also purchase them here in the states through Whimsy Stamps.  I think this card is well rounded.

The Mailbox

This would be my mailbox if I had one.  You don't see these in the big city, just big metal boxes shared with your neighbors.  I need a country spot so I can have this mailbox.  Well the next best thing would be this stamp then.  Whimsy Stamps has just released The Mailbox and it was a joy to color up.  The stamp can be cropped like I did or with the whole image has part of a country house too.  This leaves you many options for cropping and die cutting.  I know you will enjoy this stamp and it will bring you good memories of times past or current.
You can purchase this new release now through Whimsy or ask your local store to order it in for you!

Life's a Beach

Because you cant have enough Penguins in your life.  You must check out Life's a Beach clear set from Whimsy Stamps.  The sweet penguins doing some fun summery activities and super sentiments to go along with them.  So many uses for the set!
This card was fun to make and allowed me to play with some of my fun papers I had on hand.  I always wondered when i was going to get to use the sunshine pattern paper.  Pulling the colors out of the beach ball I colored this stamp up.  This was a quick and easy card as penguins are pretty simple to color.  Another great stamp set!
