Fun Times! Tracing Memories

Because I am a Copic teacher I rarely get to take a class.  I love expanding my knowledge so I can teach others through my eyes, having studied through experience and knowledge of others.  Scraps Of Love hosted a class last Thursday "Tracing Memories" with Instructor Marianne Walker, Regional Copic Certified Instructor and North American product Director.  I had so much fun.  The only problem I had was Marianne wanted the strokes of the marker to be a little more "free".  Things don't always have to be perfectly blended to be beautiful and she showed amazing samples to prove that.  Because I am so accustom to staying within the lines this was a little outside my box.  But guess what?  I am gonna learn to be a little more free with my strokes when it comes to free form artwork.
In this class she took a photograph and converted it to line art.  Not all the lines are in the image and we get to "see" the placement of the color where there are no lines to create what we see in the photo.  Here is the end result of my work.  I hope to color this again with more "free" form strokes....but I was able to get this finished and I am quite pleased with it.  Be sure and get in this class in your local area if Copic hosts one in your town.  Thank you Marianne for sharing your talents!  Be sure and check out her work on her blog HERE.

I would rate your colouring skill as the best in the world! Comparing your artwork and Marianne, I personally prefer your vivid colouring, which is so alive and a real pleasure to look at. Your colouring, be it the colour choice or technique, never fail to captivate me. You make every single image and turn it into a beautiful art piece.
