She Sells Sea Shells...

How dreamy is Sassy Mermaid Molli?  La La Land did not disappoint with the latest release.  I know you have been seeing a lot of different dies and stamps from this last release and I hope your are enjoying the inspiration as much as I have enjoyed creating them!

A few key pieces that I used to create this card are the Sea Shells and the Fishing Net dies.  I wondered when someone would create a super awesome net and look its finally here!  The shells were created by layering them twice...the first cut is die cut out and the second layer I left the pieces in.   I added some chunky glass glitter from Stampendous to the net to create a little more texture and it brought in that perfect shimmer to the card.  I need to use this product more often...it's delicious!!

When I created this card I didn't have anything in particular in mind for the final piece.  I started by coloring her skin normal skin tones.  I chose red hair....then I picked my papers.  Once the papers were chosen I colored the rest of her to match.  I wanted to carry the green a little more into her skin tones so I went back over the original skin tones with the greens to tie it all together.  I think it makes her a little more organic in feel.  I didn't feel the card needed a sentiment but could add one if the special occasion comes up.  I will leave her for now.

Sink or Swim

I found great coloring therapy in this one image.  What a cute stamp from LDRS Creative!  All these cute characters all in one.  This stamp is by Polkadoodles and is now available in the store!  I love the loose design of the polka doodles stamps.
I added the Heart Anchor from La-La Land Crafts to the card (just incase the road didn't have an anchor I thought I would provide one).  A simple layout design for the card but I felt it looked complete with the added buttons.  Sometimes I just want to add everything in my art studio to a card...but I stopped at buttons today.

Sail Away With me

I created this card using Sail Cup from Stampendous.  I loved doing a little reflection into the water.  Just a couple flicks of color changes up the looks of the image and adds depth.

I had fun creating this card with these chill little mice in a cup.  I topped the card off by adding my new favorite Flag die from La La Land.  Have you gotten yours yet?  It is my most used banner.

Sour Puss Lemon Licker

That face when you take a bite of a lemon!  I don't have to even bite the lemon...just thinking of it makes my mouth water and a little pucker happen.  These cuties are are pulling off the pucker factor nicely.

This in one of the recent releases from Stampendous.  I am kinda fond of these little guys!  You can find them HERE in the Stampendous store.

Ahoy baby!

Looking to create that perfect baby boy card?  This set Seas the Day is perfect for that.  Deep etched red rubber, large background set and some perfect stamps to compliment!  La La Land Crafts has done it again!!

I used my Nuvo Aqua Flow brushes to create the background by simply "painting" the stamp and then spritzing with water and stamping.  I love the soft look it gives it.  then I used my Copics to color the images in.  I cut them out and added them to the card.  I added complimenting die pieces to include the new Ropes and the Knot die from La La Land.  I wanted to to say B-A-B-Y so I colored up my favorite Chippies from Make it Crafty and added them to my favorite banner.  You can find all the components linked below.

Sink or Swim

And the cards from the clear set Jaws Because from La La Land Crafts keep coming!  This one is a gel card.  I used some of the delicious new dies to create this card.  The Life Preserver is actually a die that I colored up.  This is a fun card and once I made it was hard to put down because I was having so much fun squishing the gel around.

I created this gel card using hair gel, Tonics Nuvo Shimmer Powder and Confetti.  All you do is put some in a little baggie leaving some space for air as you want the products to have room to be smooshed around.  This is my first gel card so I overfilled it a bit.  After I added the elements I taped the opening closed to make sure none would ooze out.  Then I tased it to the back side of the opening.  I did add a frame to the back side of the front of the card to make it a little neater.  Two of the little fish that look "inside" of the frame are actually on the inside fold of the card.

Going, Going, Gone

If you can't tell yet, I sure am having fun with the Jaws Because clear set from la-La Land crafts!  This adorable little dolphins are having way to much fun.  I combined it with the new background stamp from Seas the Day

Not only did I use the Stitched Clouds Border die for the clouds (obviously), but I used the revers for the waves too.  The back dolphin is a penny slider and makes his way across the card.

To create the background I painted the stamp with the Nuvo Aqua flow.  I gently misted it to make it a little more watery and then stamped it onto cardstock.  I love the look of the Aqua Flow on stamps. It is easy to do and cleans up easily too.  They have a pretty range of colors too.  I cant wait to see what you do with this set!

Chuga-chuga Choo-choo

Better not miss the train on this one!  The new release of the Paper Door Kit is amazing!  You get dies, a clear set , brads, paper and twine in this awesome kit.  I know I will get tons of use out of this set and you will too.

Last Paper Door kit sold out in a few days!  For this card I created a button shaker.  I used my stash buttons and sequins.  It gives a nice clickity-clack sound, like a train.   How fun is that!

You can grab your limited edition kit HERE.  Only available while supplies last or the 25th...whichever comes first.

Get Whale Soon

OK...this is just the coolest!  Gosh, there are so many things on this card that are a must have!  La-La Land Crafts has totally outdone themselves with this release.  I just cant get enough!!
Let me start by talking about some of the components I used.  First the whale comes from the clear set Jaws Because that I showed you yesterday.  I actually made cards using almost everything in this set I loved it so much!  Next let me mention that Flag Banner Die I used...If you don't buy it you are crazy...no, I mean it!  This is the most elegant flag die and will be my most used one ever!  I placed the whale on top of the Build A Frame die set.  If you look close you can see the pieces are separate....there is a separate large and a small frame option in the store...combine the two for more frame size options.  The Ship's Wheel...I love the sweet details of this and makes a great feature piece.  Last but not least...have you checked out the amazing background sets that have been released, both last month and this months?  This set is called Seas the Day and comes with the background I used, as well as some boats and sentiments.  Very versatile and so perfect for complimenting other images too.

Jaws Because

Oh you are going to love the details I share about this card!  This stamp is part of a clear set from La La Land Crafts and comes with the coolest little swimmers.  I had to make one shark look like he was chewing on the card.  I placed these fun sharks on a background I created using glossy paper and my airbrush.  I love the way it turned out.
After I was done creating the main images I added some super fabulous touches with the new Heart Anchor and Ropes die from La La Land.  The little details in the dies are just perfect and the dies cut so nicely!

I had a blast creating this card!!  Check out all the other little swimmers in this set.  I have added links below.  I have more to share from this set too!

Today I Am So Crabby!

Oh MAN!!!!  Look at what all I got to play with!  La-La Land Crafts just had released a huge amount of loot.  Everything from clear sets, background sets, rubber stamps, dies and wonderful layering stencils.  You have got to check them all out HERE

I wanted to share the cute penguin, who is one cool dude, for my first post.  I have a handful more coming too...so be sure and watch for them.

I created my own background paper using the little crab from the clear set.  After random stamping him all over I colored him up.  I stamped a couple extra for a little extra elsewhere on the card.  I die cut out a circle for a window and airbrushed the circle to look like water.  I added the penguin to the front of the circle and used a crab to overhang.

A nautical card isn't complete without a cool banner so I added on of La-La Land Crafts cool banners to finish it off.  There are so many little characters in this set.  The possibilities are endless.

Be sure and check it out!

WOW - Flag Shaker Die

Ohhhhh shake shake shake.....seeing stars?  I had a blast creating this card for the NEW whimsy release using the Flag Shaker die set.  This die set has 4 dies in the flag shape.  You can do so much with them!

For this card I used 3 of the dies.  The largest for the bottom layer.  The next size up was to cut the clear acetate and give it stitches...this layer allows for the clear to change outside of the top frame giving a platform for the white Nuvo drops to sit on.  The next later is the top frame (shaker portion) that was glued on the acetate and hides the strips of pop up foam tape.  I love this idea.  See how I put the main image INSIDE the shaker along with the little stars?  Be one of the first to own one of these dies that have never been on the market before.

Penguin Ice Cream

Well look at this crazy guy juggling his ice cream.  What a hoot and so fun to color.  For this card I chose the paper first.  Then I colored the image to match.  If you look really closely you will see he is colored a dark blue.  I had fun creating the shading in the blues too...something different.   Heck, why not?  You can get this new stamp, Ice Cream Penguin, at Whimsy Stamps for the perfect summer card...or a "you can do it" card.

I used the Card Builder Windows die set to create this card.  The frames are just perfect along with the large tab with stitches for this card.

Bunny Hugs

Everybody needs a hugs every now an then and I just had to add this adorable duo to to the newly released Zipper stamp from Whimsy Stamps.  I love how you can pop out an image to look like its coming from inside the zipper.

You could use this stamp for a pocket too.  Its large and fits nicely on an A2 card front.  I embossed it onto card stock that matched the lower paper.  If you don't have matching card stock you can always just color it up.  This simple card might look complex but it isn't at all.  I cant wait to see what you do with the zipper!

Yummmm!

Yippee....I scream for ice cream!!  This stamp Ice Cream Crazy cracks me up!  It looks like they are definitely enjoying themselves!

I might add that I combined it with the  Flag Banner die cut (this is my absolutely favorite banner die) from La-La Land Crafts.  It is a must own die!!!  I added the Make It Crafty sentiment to finish it off.  I love how you can color them with Copics (or other coloring medium) to coordinate with your image.  The shipping from Australia is awesome...you can get a ton of them in the shipping envelope and they come all nice and safely packed.  You must check them out too.

Potted Birdhouse

I keep wanting to make a real elaborate birdhouse out of wood...something about the mystery of what might be inside.  I enjoyed creating this card with dimensional cutting.  I colored the planter twice and cut it out and popped it up.  I also added a paper bow (discontinued die).  The awning was the final touch.

For this card I used Potted Birdhouse colored in spring colors.  I layered it using a die from Lawn Fawn...I love the little scalloped edges.  I added a simple sentiment using Everyday Scripted Sentiment from Whimsy Stamp.  I thought this image went really well with the new Hello 6x6 paper pad from Doodlebug...my favorite pattern paper company.  What do you think?  Sweet card huh?  This should cheer someone up.  Now if only I could find a way to make some calming bird chirping happen when they open up the envelope.

Stream Runs Through

I love combining different stamps together to create scenes.  For this card I used the NEW released Stream Runs Through and Unicorn Beauty to create this enchanting card.  I kept all the colors more pastel to give it a mystical appearance.  I am super happy with the results.

After stamping the two different images I cut out the Unicorn and placed it onto of the Stream Runs Through.  I did a boo-boo but decided to leave it alone.  I wanted to add glitter to it and started with the trees...ooops didn't dry clear...that is just the way it will stay...lesson learned.  The sentiment was from the new Stained Glass Scripture Sentiment set.  I just cut the word of the remaining sentiment to get the word "faith".  I thought it finished it off perfectly.  of course I threw-up buttons all over this card with added bling from my stash.  I hope you enjoy this card as much as I did creating it.

You can get your stamp at Whimsy now to create your own little bit of dream land.

Garden Door

I would love to be here in this location right now.  I feel like I could smell the salt air from the sea breeze coming from the balcony of this coastal location.  I imagine it being up on the side of a cliff with a view of the ocean that sprawls to the horizon.  Are you feeling it?

This new release Garden Door from Whimsy is now available for you to create your own dream location.  This image is paired with a delicious chipboard word from Make It Crafty, buttons and enamel dots from my stash intwined in coffee dyed cheese cloth.

Love You Mudder

This adorable group of piggies just grabbed me.  This digital stamp also comes with a Mothers Day greeting but seeing as its past Mothers Day I thought I would give it a sentiment of my own.  I matched it up with some Make it Crafty Chipboard too.  To bring it all together I did some XO's on white cardstock.
I added the banner flags and the brown background using the In Line die set from Craftin' Desert Divas, one of my favorite sets.

Coffee Lovers

Here is the last of 3 cards created using Cactus Coffee.  For this card I used TONS of layering.  This was a fun challenge for me.  If was harder to come up with 3 totally different layouts using the same image in one sitting.  I might have gone slightly overboard on this...NAH!  I love how black cardstock frames out an image.  It pretty much goes with anything.

Oooh La La

Flapper Molli is smoking hot in this ensemble.   I thought I would create a sassy card using her.

I have been saving this paper for a rainy day...guess it rained.  It is a yummy orangie/red color with a sea foam background.  Yes please!  Combining Molli with the Open Hearts Doily die gives her a sassy but elegant look.  These are both available in the La-La Land store now

Into the ocean

Wow was this fun designing.  I must admit it took a while to design.  Each piece came together one thought at a time  Sometimes when you have time, its the best way to go.  I am super thrilled about this dimensional card using all products from la-La Land Crafts.

This piece was designed around this sweet sea turtle that was part of La-La Lands monthly club kit.  If you haven't gotten in on this action you must check it out.  This months theme is gnomes.  YES...gnomes and mushrooms and....well go check it out!

I used glossy cardstock from the background.  I created it using the Copics and an airbrush machine with some light misting of rubbing alcohol.  I did the same thing with the turtles body but in the greens.  I fussy cut out the underpart of the turtle with scissors.  I added the Lattice Border as frames and cut apart the Deco Border to create the sea-weed.  Using the Tabs Border I created the sand.  This card definitely will not fit in an envelope.  As I create this card I am thinking and sending love to all my Hawaiian friends dealing with the Volcano action.  Be safe!

Missing You

La-La Land's Thinking of You Marci is just as sweet as can be.  I think she is currently my favorite.  She looks so summery in her cute outfit don't you think?

I popped Marci up on the background and finished the card off with some clouds and grass from Whimsy Stamps.

Free Hugs

Another fun take on the Cactus Coffee that I created using a different paper combination with teal, green and browns.  I used the Fancy Frames die set to create the scalloped edge mat.  I do love the blue green color combination for this card and will use it again.

I think this one might be my favorite card out of the 3 cards I made with this stamp.  I had so much fun doing this!  I will definitely be asking my FB friends to help again!

Chivalrous Pooch

Okay I went all in on this one.  All the way down to the tiniest cog.  This adorable pooch from La-La Land Crafts is such a charmer.  He even brought flowers!

This was fun to color and assemble.  I colored the Dandy Frenchie dog stamp using my Copics.  I then fussy cut him out and set him aside.  Next I stamped the jar and flowers in a light color.  This stamp comes from the background set Just For You.  It includes a huge gingham background stamp with a sentiment, jar, basket and flowers.  After coloring it I cut it out and then got to assembling the card.  I love gears and cogs so this was super fun.

Prickly Situation

So I did a fun little thing on my facebook page.  If you aren't following feel free to request to add me HERE.  On Facebook I asked what paper they want me to create a card with for the Cactus Coffee image from Craftin Desert Divas.

The majority wanted #2, so I created this card layout below.  This week I will show a couple more cards I made with the other combinations and the Copic colors used for this adorable image.

For this card design I used Craftin' Desert Divas In Line die set for the sentiment.  It has so many dies in this set and is worth every penny!  I also used Fancy Frames die to create all the frames and flag.  This set is another favorite of mine and is very versatile.  A  must have for your die stash as I use it a lot!
