Rustic Pinecone Holiday

This Pine Bough is a very popular stamp.  I stamped and colored it 3 times to create dimension and then added it to the NEW Woodgrain Background.  Chipboard Elements from Make It Crafty  I love using the Pine Bough, I think this is the most popular of the DoveArt stamp line as it is so versatile throughout the year.

Now You See It, Now You Don't!

Whimsy Stamps has a surprise new release and you are gonna LOVE it!!  These 5 dies are so full of unlimited action.  One thing that has always personally driven me crazy is seeing a card that slides, pulls, or pushes and you can see the actual slider slot.  Well guess what?  It is no more!!!  With the clever new No-See sets, it is GONE GONE GONE...okay, just hidden!  You must check out what all the design team has created.  This is endless fun!

Using the Doggie and Kite stamp I created this card.  I combined the fabulous new All Seasons Tree die (that is the perfect size for so many card options and comes with all seasons elements, use it on its own or combine with other Kinetic Dies), The Straight Basics and the fabulous No-See Kinetic Basics.  Check this out...Up Up and Away!!!!  Now you see you don't!

These dies are going to fly off the shelf!  Look out for more fun samples coming soon...because I am having way to much FUN!

You will need the No-See Kinetic Basics and the Straight Basics to get you started.   But I know you will them all!!  Be sure to check out the rest in the store.  I will do a live showing on my facebook so keep your eyes peeled!

Sweet Wishes to You

Snowdrops and Tea Roses is the latest from Power Poppy.  It comes in digital form with sweet sentiments.  I had such a relaxing time coloring this up amongst the chaos of my everyday doings.

I wanted to keep with a slight vintage feel, so kept the Tea Roses more traditional.  I can almost smell them.  They remind me of my sweet Grandma and the large wild bush outside her front door.  When I was younger I used to pick the dainty roses and inhale their floral smell like I could breath all the smell right out of them in one inhale.  But the smell still lingered.  I am not a huge fan of roses but these hold a special place in my heart.

    Up Up and Away

How adorable is this Doggie and Kite!  I submitted this card for a magazine and it didn't get published (I know GASP), so you get the pleasure of some step-by-step instruction on how to create it.  How cool is that?!

I love how you can use Whimsy's Brick Background to create the "wall" for this card!

I also used the Farmhouse Shiplap Background stamp to create the flower box.

    Whimsy Products:

    Coloring Medium: Copics
    Dog – E53 E55 E57 E59, R20, C10
    Kite – R24 R29, YR04 YR09, Y15
    Bricks – C1 C3 C5 C7, E31 E35 E37
    Planter – E31 E33 B21
    Sky – B24 N2

    Full Card Instructions:

    Card size: A2 Mountain Fold
Other Supplies used: Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pad, cutter, liquid adhesive, tape runner, foam pop-up tape, Scissors,  Nuvo Crystal Drops (Ripened Pumpkin, Red Berry, English Mustard), die cut machine, white cardstock, green cardstock

    ·     Color clouds on compatible white cardstock.
    ·     Die cut cloud background using largest rectangle die from Shaker Maker Combo die
    ·     Die cut the slider using largest slider piece from the Slip ‘n Slide die set and both small circle dies from set.
    ·     Pop up the rectangle cloud piece layer using a single layer of foam tape onto the card base.
    ·     Adhere the cut out slider piece insert within the slider window, directly on card base.
    ·     Create the slider mechanism using a single layer of 1/4 inch foam pop-up tape sandwiched between the two small die cut circles and slide into the die cut opening with one circle inside and one on top of slider opening.
    ·     Color Doggie and Kite with your favorite coloring medium and cut out.
    ·     Adhere image to exposed slider circle.  Check to make sure slider works and the image is in a desired position both up and down.
    ·     Color Brick Wall background and cut to desired size.  (2 1/4 x 4 1/4)
    ·     Pop up the brick wall with a double layer of pop-up foam tape onto cloud base layer. **Make sure you do not block slider area with foam tape.
    ·     Cut out clouds using cloud die.  Adhere some to card front with tape runner and pop-up one of the clouds if desired. Keep pop up cloud single layer to not block slider mechanism.
    ·     Create a flower box by cutting a 3/4 X 10 inch strip of paper.  Stamp with the Farmhouse Shiplap background stamp.  Color with favorite coloring medium.
    ·     Score strip at 2 3/4, 2 7/8, 3, 6 1/2, 6 5/8, 6 3/4
    ·     Fold a mountain fold at first score, valley fold on second score and mountain on third score. Repeat on other side.  End pieces should overlap.  Adhere together.  You have just created a flower box for your card that can collapse down for mailing. Neat huh?
    ·     Glue to front lower portion of the card with the overlap being hidden towards the back.
    ·     Add thin strips of paper in complimenting color for Flower box edging to complete the look.
    ·     Cut strips of grass with the green cardstock and embellish flower box and lower card front.
    ·     Die cut flower stems using Christmas Branches die and adhere inside flower box
    ·     Die cut flowers using the Shaker Maker Combo Die set and adhere to the stems
    ·     Add Nuvo Crystal drops to the flowers

    Give Thanks

It is hard to find a good stamp to create Thanksgiving cards with.  Here I have used two that pair together perfectly...well three if you include the delicious background.   This Turkey is from the latest Whimsy release.  He is the perfect Turkey for this occasion!
After coloring him up I tucked him behind Pumpkin Patch and layered it onto a gold heat embossed Farmhouse Fabric Background layer.

I have to admit that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  Its about family and friends, food and fun and I am not distracted by gift shopping or gift unwrapping...just good food and friends.

    Caught In the Web

It is funny how I am not a fan of Halloween, passing out candy, decorating, but I love skulls and skeletons, webs, and ghosts.  Sometimes I wonder about my brain.  If you love those things and more you gotta check out the latest release from Whimsy Stamps.  Here are some samples from myself and a guest design team member using the Web Background.

I created this card like a door with a spooky is that?

    A Big Hug

You know how I love to try to find ways to combine images?  Well this one was super fun to not only combine this versatile Heart Tree with Teddy Bear Hugs, but also turn it into a shaker card.  I think I am going to get a bunch of use out of the tree stamp!  They are now available through Whimsy Stamps!

If you follow my blog you know I am also a fan of background stamps.  You can create your own paper to match your project.  I used the Gingham Background for this one.

    Meow at the Moon

It is release week at Whimsy Stamps and I have a fun card to show you.  I combined two different stamps to create this window card.  Using Kitty 'n Pumpkin and Web Background I created this card front.  I used a circle die to cut out the opening and make the kitty appear like he is poking out in front of the moon.  To create the moon all i did was color white paper in a circle with Copic BG's and added a little BV to create simple "craters"

Of course a card isn't complete without a chippie sentiment and a little bling.  So that is what I added to finish it off!

I used Copic C's to color up the kitty...the darkest was the C10.

A Little Bit Bubbly with Glue Dots

Don't hide your love!!!  Flaunt it!  Thats right, bring your love to the fore front!  Glue Dots...YES, those little sticky "boogers" that we all love!  I had a great time working with a image from Whimsy and combining it with Glue Dots for this joint collaboration.   Don't skip too far ahead because this post is part of a fun hop...with prizes!

I used the Glue Dots not only as adhesive to assemble the card, but also as the base or platform for some ultra fine glitter.  I love how the Craft Pop-Up Glue Dots added dimension.  It totally worked!!!!

For this card I used the Mini Glue Dots, Craft Pop-Dots as well as the Regular Glue Dots.  After applying the dots to the front of the card I sprinkled with the micro glitter and gave them a light tap-tap...tap with my finger to embed the glitter to the dots.  Then I vigorously tapped off the excess glitter and BAM! glittery delicious mess!!

Remember I mentioned blog hop?  Make sure you hop around to all the links below (if you get a link that doesn't work...just hop ahead to the next one and check back later to see what you missed.  The hop runs today through August 31st.  And whats a blog hop without prizes?  We will have lots of prizes hidden along the way as well as a grand prize valued at $100.  WOW!

How to enter to win? All you need to do is comment on EACH blog along the way.  Then for the grand prize after you have commented on all the stops, enter you name and email in the link tool at the last stop.  Winners will be randomly selected and announced on Monday, September 3rd on the Whimsy blog.  Good Luck and enjoy the inspiration!  Hop list at the end of this post.

Be sure and check out the other inspiration for both the design teams!!

    Take Care Panda Bear!

Due to popular demand this adorable Panda Butt clear set is now back!  You have until the 25th (or while supplies last) to grab this from the Whimsy store.  This set comes ONLY in the Paper Door kit.  It sold out within a few days last time it was released so Whimsy graciously brought it back!  I had a idea to create a scene with the Pandas playing in the that is what I created.

YES!!!  This is a slider card.  The middle panda slides down the hill.  I used one of the slider dies to create this effect.

To get the "snow" effect I used a favorite technique of sprinkling the Stampendous Chunky White embossing Enamel on the paper and heating from underneath.

    I used C10 C8 C7 C5 C3 C1 on these bears.
