Ready, Aim...

Make it Crafty is back at it with its challenges again.  Oh how I love Zoe's challenge blog and challenges.  This month it's "skin".  If you aren't comfortable with coloring skin she has some great Coloring Tutorials.  Either way it can't hurt to try out the challenge at your own pace, in your own coloring style.  With practice we get better and better.
I decided to color up "Aim Em Up Cupid".  He just cracks me up.  I think he takes his job seriously!  After I finished coloring him up with my Copics I fussy cut him out.  I added him to an embossed background.

Keeping it simple I added a chipboard sentiment "Love" from Make It Crafty.  I heat embossed both pieces of the chipboard word with fine white embossing powder.  I then airbrushed the bottom piece with a red Copic marker (as I dont have red embossing powder).  How easy is that to get just white and make it any color I want?  Next I glued the two chipboard words together giving it the dimension.  I love Zoes layered chippies!!!  You can find so many sayings and designs.  They are so strong yet delicate too.  You dont have to emboss them, you can color directly on them using your favorite coloring medium or ink.  I will also mention that you can get tons shipped to you at a great price.

Just Ducky

There I go using that Lawn Fawn Cloud Border Die again.  If you haven't figured it out it is a favorite.  Combined with some fun color combos and these fun ducks from Stampendous we will be having a ball at the next card class at The Paper Collage.  We almost have 48 people registered...might be a few spots so contact the store.
I love how simple the card is, yet with the pattern paper it looks more detailed.  Just a few fun layers.  Its mainly just coloring.  I added some fun color in the water to show reflection using the tip-to-acetate (just scribble some color on acetate (YR65) and pick it up with the main color (BG11) and place in reflection) method so the colors don't appear too strong.

Like You A-Lotta!

SQUEEEEE!  Look at these cute little guys!  Don't they look cozy?  This image was so quick to color.  I love the clean looking style of this card and the slight pop of the clouds to give it dimension.

We will have a great time creating this at the next local class here in Arizona at The Paper Collage.  All the info for this class is under Class Schedule tab above.

For this card I used the new release House Mouse stamp - Crocus Nap by Stampendous!  I love this House Mouse release!  To finish the card off I used two of my favorite dies and a little yummy Nuvo Crystal drop for accents.

Lawn Fawn - Puffy Clouds Border (one of my favorites)
Lawn Fawn - Picket Fence Border (another favorite)

So Sweet

A little shine, a little transparent and a couple of little fuzz-butts make this a cute image to color up.  This fun digital image Jelly Bean Machine is another one from Craftin' Desert Divas.  I added a little darker color around the eyes to give them a bit more character.  After doing a general blend I added some gradual dots for a little texture.  Just adding subtle things can make such a difference dont you think?
I used the Fancy frame dies again for the large scallop.  I wanted to keep the card mostly white with some slight color so I layered it with some busy pattern paper but them used the Circle Cut and Stitch from C.C. Designs

Stinkin' Cute

I fell in love with this little stinker as soon as I saw it.  it was fun adding color to her.  She doesn't look stinky with those pretty flowers she is holding.  You can find this digital image for 99 cents (as are all the digitals) at Craftin Desert Divas.  This is so perfect for so many sentiments!
what about coloring it in pink or blue and "welcome the little stinker".  I stinking' love you...I could go on....

I used CDD Fancy Frame die for the scalloped stitch to finish it off.  Simple and "stinking' sweet"

Flower Jars

This stamp "Flower Jars" was the perfect image for teaching Zoe's No-Line stamping in the upcoming January class in Phoenix at The Paper Collage.  When you want an image to appear transparent it is much easier to achieve the look when its stamped in a light color leaving out the bold lines.  So I stamped this in a light gray.

Another little tip...Buy bulk white smooth buttons, because you can make them match any card by simply coloring them with your Copic markers and giving them a light misting with a mister filled with rubbing alcohol.  It gives a fun "marbleized" look in matching colors.

This is another NEW release from Stampendous.  You really should check out the whole new release...pretty fabulous!

Egg Juggler

Working on the class for January for The Paper Collage.  I just had to color up some of the NEW adorable House Mouse Stamps from the January release.  I added some dimension with the Say Cheese die from Lawn Fawn (its out of stock but you can get the Say Cheese, Again die instead), and some Tonic Nuvo crystal drops (of course)  This was super fun to create.  I added it to a white embossed background giving it an extra pop off the page.
I hand-cut the Easter eggs and popped them up even more with foam tape.  After cutting out the sentiment I added the Translucent Nuvo Crystal drops randomly over the word in complimenting colors.  I love the translucent drops as it gives a different look to the regular crystal drops.
