I Couldn't Help Myself

Mo Manning (Digital Pencil) did it again.  Her darn fairies get me every time!  I had a moment to color and so I took advantage of it and colored this little cutie pa-tooty.  I just wanna kiss his/her cheeks!

I wanted to join her DT call as these images are one of my favorite, but duty calls and I must concentrate on my upcoming classes and finishing my book, Stampendous DT, Dustin Pike DT, TalkAbout Images DT and Creative Impressions I did not submit.  Setting my priorities!  Oh, but I will next time around that is for sure!

Your Patience....

Sorry I do not have any fun images to post for you.  I have been working night and day on writing a Copic Tutorial book.  My Build-A-Book is almost complete.  I can not believe its almost 40 pages long.  Their are just so many things I want to show you I just couldn't leave anything out.  You will LOVE this book when it is done.  For those who do not live locally, in the future you too will have a chance to get your hands on this book, but for now you must take the classes from me personally to obtain it.   Class size is limited, so get signed up now!   It have been a lot of work to get all the info on paper, but the end result is AWESOME!

I will color something soon, I promise!!

Merry Christmas to all of you!  Stay safe!!

It's A Blue Kind of Christmas

I love the way the coloring turned out on this card.  The stamp is by Magenta.  I wanted to make the flowers "pop" so I colored the backgrounds with a neutral color, like as if I were making a monochromatic card.  Then added the one other color I desired...okay two, I forgot about the leaves.  I made this card in red also, but the blue was better in the end.

Thanks to my friends Marty for bringing over this stamp to use at our little play-date.

Best Friends

I know I used this sentiment before...but I just love it.  This image is from Dustin Pikes Members section.  I love moose and this is no exception.  I added the felt snowflakes from Creative Impressions.  I also used puffy paint for the snow-like texture on the moose.

I made this card using all scraps of paper.  I have a scrap bin area in my craft room.  All paper that have been cut goes there.  I sort by color.  So when its time to make something the first things I do is grab the container with the scraps prior to grabbing a full sheet.    Its amazing what kinda cards you can make with scraps.

Poppies - Lesson Learned..again

I love poppies.  They are so elegant.  They come in such an array of colors.  I made this for a challenge, but the challenge got canceled due to holidays.  I figured I would post it anyway.  You will notice that when I colored it with Copics that the ink bled out of the lines.  This shows that using the correct paper is a must (unless you like the bleed effect).  I wanted to use a cream colored background.  So I did, but the paper is not a tightly compressed paper.  When using paper like this you MUST work away from the image lines knowing it will bleed.  Using less ink helps if you must use paper that is not compressed tightly.  Keep this in mind when coloring.  This just reiterates why using proper paper is a must!

Wonky Tutorial

As requested here is the quick tutorial for making flowers with Spellbinders Wonky Squares.  (I tried this with the circle dies and it totally didnt work).  Here is a photo again of the end result.

Supplies needed:  1- 12 x 12 sheet of 2 sided pattern paper
Wonnky Square Dies (2 dies close in size)
center brad or button
Die Cutter (big shot, cuttlebug, ect)

Using your die cutter machine cut a minimum of 6 wonky square frames by using two dies close together and running it through the machine (be sure your dies do not go through the machine with one on top of the other or you will ruin your dies)  I lay the larger die on the paper and the smaller one in the center of through the machine and then remove the center leaving the frame.  (I can cut 3 layers at a time).  Cut out 6 or more frames depending on flower fluffines desired.  You can make this with a minimum of 4 frames but its not thick.

Now take one Wonky frame and adhere two opposite tips of the frame together.  Do this with all your Wonky frames.

Now comes the assembly process.   I take each one of the Wonky frames and adhere them to one another.  Their isn't a right or wrong way to do this...just try to keep the spacing even.

remember the more wonky frames you use the thicker it is.  If you use a smaller wonky frame layer inside the larger frame you will get the graduated looking flower.  Play with it..there are many possibilities, this is just to get you started.  Add glitter or cuttlebug the Wonky frames before putting it together.  Glimmer misting would be so pretty....

Here is the end result of this flower as I ran out of time to add more layers :)

Have fun!  Happy Holidays.

Flock It, Stampendous Challenge STMC35

I really haven't been slacking.  I have been kicking butt getting the samples done for Stampendous catalog...OMG you all are going to LOVE the new stuff that comes out in January.  Save your pennies now!  So I will bombard you with cool stuff once they are the mean time I have a few things to show you.

Stampendous has a weekly challenge...this week its to use Flock.  I have to admit I was not a flock lover, so when this challenge came up I groaned (among other things).  I never know what to use to glue the stuff down...and then its always too thin and looks like mange on a dog.  Well after digging through my glue drawer I found a glue pen (sakura quickie glue pinpoint roller) that worked fantastic and i am very happy with the results.  Here is my card for the challenge sample.  So get your flock on and post something on the stampendous blog so you can win some loot!

I used both white and blue flock and airbrushes a little more blue with the copic airbrush system.  Using Copic E33 I colored trees and added some stampendous multi ultrafine glitter, I also put some glitter on top of the flocked snow.  This image is one of their newer images and I love it so much.  It really feels cold and crisp doesnt it?

In Arizona we actually get to see the Cardinals flying around.  They are such a pretty bird.  This image is so nice and the cardinals look so real sitting on the snow covered pine bows.  I think this is one of my favorites for now :)  This image is now available at TALKABOUT IMAGES.  It is perfect for a wonderful christmas card or just a wintery hello.

I added a few berries and my favorite Crepe ribbon from Creative Impressions to finish off the card.

Last Day to get SPOOKY!

Its a scary day my friends.  One this day we actually give tons of candy to kids...yes, we give it away even though we know it rots their teeth and causes them to climb walls with a single leap.  We hide our children's faces with paint as if to say..this is not really my kid that is climbing the walls and ringing your doorbell like as if you wouldn't open the door and give them candy on the first ring.  Yes, my friends a scary day.

And this day bring to a close the final day to enter something on Danielle's Blog for your chance to get amazing stampers candy.  That's should be scared...cause I just entered something :)  Run, Hide....don't enter, cause I WANT IT ALL.  No worries...its a random drawing..someone is gonna be happily scared!  Here is my entry.  I made something another one a few years back and just had to make it again.  I love these boxes!  Remember its got to be scary, mental or manic!
